As a Health Advocate Intern, you’ll be an integral part of our awesome team, providing impactful case management services that focus on the social determinants of health. Key Responsibilities

  • Devote over 8 hours each week to volunteer advocacy throughout the semester—let's get involved!
  • Immerse yourself in community service, screening and evaluating clients' needs using cutting-edge tools and methodologies!
  • Conduct real-time research to provide the best referrals and connections to essential social service resources!
  • Collaborate with families to create effective plans for accessible service connections and overcome any linkage barriers!
  • Maintain professional and friendly communication in line with Legacy's awesome values when following up on client plans!

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bilingual proficiency, especially in English/Spanish, is preferred, but proficiency in any language is a bonus!
  • Current enrollment in a post-secondary program at an affiliated university is essential, or the ability to facilitate affiliation documentation if not currently partnered!
  • Pursuit of education in fields like Healthcare, Social Work, Nonprofit Management, Sociology, Public Health, or related areas is beneficial!
  • Preferred background in community service, employment, or coursework related to health and economic disparities, and social justice issues!
  • Ability to meet the EPIC proficiency standards set by Legacy Community Health is a must!
