Schedule: Monday-Thursday (7AM-4:15PM) and Friday (7AM-3PM)

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and create patient accounts/records within our medical software program, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assess the accuracy of demographic and policy information within patient accounts.
  • Photocopy patients' identification and insurance cards as appropriate, maintaining confidentiality.
  • Review provider schedules and screen patient financial/demographic information for accuracy to ensure seamless care.
  • Ensure clients do not have another payer source, helping them navigate their healthcare journey.
  • Refer patients to eligibility coordinators in Legacy Clinics to provide them with the support they need.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork meticulously, contributing to smooth clinic operations.
  • Answer incoming calls and route them appropriately, ensuring excellent communication.
  • Perform client intake and notify appropriate staff, facilitating a welcoming clinic environment.
  • Follow appointment procedures as set by management, ensuring consistency and reliability.
  • Complete opening and closing procedures, maintaining an orderly clinic space.
  • Keep the clinic lobby straight and orderly, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.
  • Assist the school-based clinic nurse practitioner in performing clinic operational tasks, fostering teamwork.
  • Work with the team in ongoing clinic development and implementation, contributing to continuous improvement.
  • Document all client care/contact timely, ensuring accurate records and effective care delivery.
  • Assess needs of clinic clients and parents, providing compassionate support and guidance.
  • Consult with clients by telephone, offering assistance and information as needed.
  • Participate in clinic public health education and registration activities, promoting health awareness.
  • Assist with follow-up of lab results and testing results, ensuring timely communication with patients.
  • Perform phlebotomy duties as needed, contributing to comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities and performance reviews, fostering personal and professional growth.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED, setting the foundation for your career in healthcare.
  • BLS/CPR certification, ensuring you are prepared to respond in emergency situations.
  • Completion of Medical Assisting program at an accredited school (certification preferred), equipping you with essential skills.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and self-direction.
  • Ability to multitask, balancing various responsibilities effectively.
  • Ability to function and communicate with a wide range of educational and social backgrounds, embracing diversity.
  • Ability to learn and use electronic medical record software, enhancing clinic efficiency.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize, ensuring timely and effective care delivery.
  • Bilingual preferred, enhancing communication with diverse patient populations.
