As a crucial member of the team, you'll develop your skills in patient counseling, drug utilization reviews, and medication adherence, making a meaningful contribution to the heart of our healthcare ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform essential dispensing tasks, including data entry, medication preparation, and sales completion, while providing insightful patient counseling.
  • Conduct outreach and enroll select patients in our specialty pharmacy program, supporting ongoing pharmacy initiatives with proactive communication.
  • Ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of medication orders by reviewing patient profiles, provider notes, and relevant laboratory information.
  • Practice compliance with all regulatory authorities, maintaining rigorous standards of pharmacy operations.
  • Engage in comprehensive Drug Utilization Reviews to detect drug duplications, interactions, or allergies.
  • Document and communicate adverse drug reactions and patient interactions to healthcare providers.
  • Provide educational guidance to patients, families, and healthcare providers about drug interactions, side effects, and proper pharmaceutical storage.
  • Assess and promote medication adherence through targeted counseling sessions.
  • Administer immunizations following established protocols.
  • Exhibit a cooperative spirit and set priorities effectively while working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Convey information clearly and concisely, fostering positive interactions with all healthcare professionals.
  • Approach interactions with friendliness, compassion, and sensitivity, ensuring a supportive healthcare environment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Active enrollment in an accredited college or university of pharmacy.
  • Eligible or certified in immunization delivery, smoking cessation, and naloxone administration.
  • Possess a valid Pharmacist Intern License from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, including CPR.
  • Experience or familiarity with specialized fields such as HIV/AIDS, Geriatrics, and/or Pediatrics is preferred.
