Medical Assistant Bilingual - School Clinic (Mon-Thru 7AM-4:15PM | Fri 7AM-3PM)

As a Bilingual English/Spanish Medical Assistant in our School Based Health Program, you'll play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between healthcare and education. Located in 9000 W Bellfort Ave, your contributions directly impact community health, providing essential services to the youth and ensuring a proactive approach to their wellness.

In this forward-thinking position, you will support our medical providers in delivering exceptional care by assisting with examinations and minor office procedures. Your role extends to maintaining a sterile and efficient environment, as well as contributing to vital public health initiatives. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient interviews to gather medical history, measuring vital signs including height and weight for accurate medical record documentation.
  • Collect and log laboratory specimens such as blood and tissue, preparing them for crucial testing processes.
  • Assist physicians in examining and treating patients, providing hands-on tasks such as giving injections and suture removal.
  • Maintain treatment rooms, ensuring they are prepared, hygienic, and welcoming for patient visits.
  • Manage the sterilization of instruments and appropriate disposal of contaminated supplies to maintain a safe healthcare environment.
  • Perform client phone consultations on test results and health inquiries, offering insightful guidance and support.
  • Engage in public health education, registration activities, and other community initiatives to promote health awareness.
  • Support administrative tasks essential for the seamless operation of the clinic, enhancing patient and staff experiences.
  • Manage client intake processes, ensuring the timely notification of relevant healthcare professionals upon a client's arrival.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Medical Assistant credentials or equivalent certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, ensuring safe patient care practices.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, essential for effective communication with diverse populations.
