Bilingual Medical Assistant Float - Championing Healthcare in Diverse Communities (Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM)

Join Legacy Community Health as a pivotal player in transforming community healthcare across our East Houston Clinics (5th Ward, 3rd Ward, Lawndale, Deer Park and Baytown). As a Bilingual English/Spanish Medical Assistant Float, you will not only support our providers in exams and minor office procedures but also help in maintaining a high standard of care that resonates with our community's diverse needs. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient interviews to gather essential medical information and perform vital sign checks, including height and weight measurements, for accurate medical records.
  • Collect, log, and prepare blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens for testing, ensuring integrity and accuracy.
  • Assist physicians during patient examinations and treatments by handling instruments and materials or performing tasks such as giving injections and removing sutures.
  • Ensure treatment rooms are well-prepared, clean, and organized for optimal patient care experiences.
  • Efficiently clean and sterilize medical instruments, disposing of contaminated supplies properly to uphold health and safety standards.
  • Engage in phone consultations with clients to discuss test results and address various health concerns with professionalism and empathy.
  • Provide coverage across various service lines, including OB, Pediatrics, and Adult Medicine, in collaboration with diverse clinicians.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant or certificate of Medical Assistant is essential.
  • Basic Life Support certification is mandatory.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required, ensuring effective communication with our diverse patient population.
