Position Summary

The Manager – Social Services manages the daily activities and provides direct supervision of the Social Services department staff. In addition, the Manager – Social Services with a LCSW can maintain a therapy caseload to provide therapeutic services to patients one day per week. The Manager – Social Services will provide a wide range of psychosocial services to patients referred by Legacy providers, including but not limited to: case management, linkages to care, patient advocacy, and psychological and social support, on an as needed basis.

 

Essential Duties & Functions

· Provide direct supervision and manage daily activities of direct reports, as assigned by Director of Social Services.

· Help strengthen, coordinate, and expand team involvement and visibility at designated sites and surrounding areas.

· Monitor productivity to ensure goals are being met, including generating monthly team referral reports, board reports, and other reports as requested.

· Monitor documentation for compliance with Legacy and Department guidelines and requirements.

· Responsible for reviewing, evaluating, and updating team procedures, guidelines, and operational practices.

· Act as a liaison between the staff and Operations/Site Directors.

· Demonstrate effective leadership skills and engage in leadership trainings to further enhance those skills.

· Promote effective working relationships and teambuilding to ensure a positive and healthy work environment.

· Evaluate the need for and assist with the development of departmental training needs including all-staff trainings, CEU presentations, etc.

· Recruit, interview, and onboard new staff for designated sites.

· Plan and structure an internship experience and monitor and precept any work completed on an as needed basis

· Collaborate with Children and Pregnant Women (CPW) Program Supervisor to support required program audits, staff productivity, and program advancements.

· Assist in direct case management activities as needed

· Adhere to ll Department guidelines and standards to maintain accurate, timely, and consistent documentation

· If the Clinic Social Worker Supervisor is seeking Clinical Supervision, additional duties will be as follows:

o Maintain a direct patient care caseload within the Behavioral Health department, which will include the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of clients with clinical needs.

o Meet with LCSW Supervisor on-site for Clinical Supervision sessions as per the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners requirements.

· Must be able to travel between locations as needed

· Performs other duties as assigned


Requirements

  • MSW from a CSWE accredited institution preferred
  • 2 years’ experience managing staff, preferred
  • Preference will be given to LMSW licensure with 2+ years of direct practice experience
LCSW preferred

Minimum of three (3) years paid work experience, post-degree (BSW/MSW), in the field of social work.
  • BSW or MSW from a CSWE accredited institution required
  • Active licensure as defined by the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners
  • Knowledge and adherence to the National Association of Social Work Code of Ethics
  • Ability to effectively communicate with diverse patients, their family members, medical professionals and a variety of third-party stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written required.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong track-record working with community agencies and/or performing case management in clinic or other setting.
  • Proven knowledge of landscape of public benefits and community resources and how to facilitate individuals’ access to those resources
  • Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and decision making responsibilities.
