We are seeking a dynamic and bilingual English/Spanish Medical Assistant for our OB/GYN department at the LFL Clinic in Houston, TX. As a pivotal member of our team, the OB/GYN Medical Assistant supports providers in conducting exams and minor office procedures, playing a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of patient care. This position is not only about maintaining exam room inventories and sterilizing equipment but also about empowering patients to lead healthier lives through education and access to vital resources.

Our rich history began in 1981 as the Montrose Clinic, specializing in HIV education, testing, and treatment. Legacy has since expanded to numerous clinics across Houston, Baytown, Beaumont, and Deer Park, offering a wide array of services, including adult primary care, pediatrics, OB/GYN, and more. Key Responsibilities

  • Interview patients to obtain accurate medical histories and vital signs, while ensuring thorough documentation in medical records.
  • Collect and prepare blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens for testing, maintaining meticulous logs.
  • Assist physicians in examining and treating patients, including handing instruments, administering injections, and removing sutures.
  • Maintain the treatment rooms, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for patient examinations.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments; properly dispose of contaminated supplies to uphold safety standards.
  • Conduct phone consultations to discuss test results and address health concerns, providing personalized patient support.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant or possession of a certificate in Medical Assisting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish, with excellent communication skills.
