The Accountant II will assist in various accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial data and compliance with company policies.
Participate in the accurate and timely closing of the general ledger on a monthly basis.
Oversee all general ledger accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems.
Ensure compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
Prepare daily reconciliation of cash accounts.
Prepare daily cash flow and liquidity schedules.
Prepare assigned recurring and non-recurring journal entries for month-end close.
Perform fixed asset accounting, including management of Abila software to appropriately track capital equipment, depreciation and disposal of assets. Works with Accounts Payable, Facilities and IT to maintain records for Fixed Assets.
Maintain prepaid expense schedule and prepare monthly journal entry.
Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Maintain capital campaign schedules and reconcile with Development Department.
Assist with external audit and prepare schedules and reports as requested.
Provide reconciliation, research, analysis and ad-hoc reporting as required.
Complete annual government and private agency surveys.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of GAAP accounting practices.
Proficiency with accounting software, such as Abila.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Excel.
Understanding of internal control environments.
