Legacy Community Health is looking for an experienced and licensed Medical Assistant for our Beaumont area clinics

About the Position

The Medical Assistant at Legacy Community Health assists providers in all exams and minor office procedures by interviewing patients to obtain medical information and assessing their vital signs, weight, and height. You will record the results of the patient's vital statistics and medical history as well as additional information, such as test results, in medical records. You will also collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing. While assisting providers, you will prepare treatment rooms for patient exams and further assist the physician with their instruments and materials, including cleaning and sterilization or disposal, or performing tasks, such as giving injections or removing sutures. The Medical Assistant will also provide phone consultations with patients regarding test results and health concerns.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or completion of Medical Assistant program
  • Spanish speaking, preferred
